Ich bin ein Berliner

I spent the last weekend in Berlin, and now I want to go back. Again and again. Really, it's a city with everything going for it -- kickass nightlife; excellent Sunday brunch buffets; different walk and don't walk characters, depending on whether you're in the east or west; and a bicycling community that waits for no pedestrian. Our hostel was in Prenzlauer Berg, this really hip part of east Berlin. Every street was lined with cute cafes and shops, and of course restaurants and bars for the evening hours.

The city in its entirety is massive, and we really didn't see very much of it at all. But the parts of it we did see were pretty damn cool. You can take an elevator to the top of the Reichstag (for free, no less!) and walk around a glass dome for a 360 degree view of the city. You can also look down into the Reichstag itself, and see the blue chairs in which the members of the German Bundestag sit and make laws.
